Welcome to the heart of Meppel!
Meppel, the coziest town in Drenthe. My home is in the center. Your stay is close to all nice shops, restaurants and pubs. Opposite the house you will find two supermarkets: Jumbo and Lidl. The train and bus station is approximately an 8-minute walk away. Giethoorn (15 km) and the dolmens in Havelte (13 km) are nearby.

The Airbnb
The top floor of the house is entirely for you. There is a nice, spacious living room here (approx. 20m2). There are two comfortable armchairs, a dining table, and chairs in this space.
There is a TV with so many channels on it that you can probably watch programs from your own country/language. Movie channels, series, and all well-known sports channels can also be seen. Wi-Fi and wired internet are available.
There is a refrigerator, air conditioning, combination microwave, contact grill, single-burner induction cooktop, coffee maker, coffee, a kettle, and tea available. Bottles of cold water can be found in the refrigerator.
The separate bedroom is approx. 15m2 and has standard two separate single beds that can be pushed together set up as a kingsize bed. In the bedroom (or living room) there is plenty of space for a (already present) camp bed or a cool baby/toddler (Deryan) sleep tent. There are also summer/winter baby sleeping bags, a high chair, and a music box present.
Optionally, 1 or 2 M-line mattresses can be added to the living room or bedroom for an additional fee. There can maximum 4 people overnight stay.
There is a washbasin on the floor. The shared bathroom is (one floor down) on the second floor. The toilet is also located here.
Practical matters
Your stay does not include breakfast. You can put together your own groceries at the Jumbo and/or Lidl supermarkets, across from the accommodation. These large supermarkets are open from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
My little dog Sev is very enthusiastic. But aside from occasionally making his presence known when someone walks in, he is definitely harmless and just super sweet.

The surroundings
Meppel has a lively city center with squares and sidewalk cafes. The surroundings of Meppel are truly magnificent! Whether you come by bike, train, or car, there is a lot of beauty to see in the area. Among others, the Weerribben (near Giethoorn) is a wetland area. Havelte with its dolmens and heath. The Reestdal and the Dwingelerveld, they are all magnificent nature reserves with lovely walking and cycling paths. In short, Meppel and its surroundings have a lot to offer!
Giethoorn is located 13 km away from Meppel.
The beautiful Hanseatic city of Zwolle is 25 km from Meppel.

The entire property is non-smoking. Of course you are allowed to smoke a cigarette in front of the house or in the backyard.
Smoking, vaping, hookups, and/or prostitution are not allowed in this accommodation.
We want to ensure that the accommodation remains comfortable for all guests, so pets are unfortunately not allowed.
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Check-out is before 10:30 AM.
